VoltDelta and Transera Form Strategic Alliance,
Expanding Global Footprint with Virtual Contact Center Solutions

NEW YORK and Sunnyvale, Calif. – April 24, 2008 — Volt Delta Resources, LLC (VoltDelta), a wholly owned subsidiary of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. (NYSE: VOL), and Transera® Communications, today announced their commercial reseller and marketing partnership. This alliance will focus on providing enhanced on-demand virtual contact center solutions worldwide. The accord combines Transera’s award winning Seratel® on-demand contact center software with VoltDelta hosted telephony solutions, giving customers enhanced hosted services across the globe.

“The pay-as-you-go utility model for hosted contact center solutions is spurring market growth upwards of 34 percent per year according to our research,” said Ian Jacobs, senior analyst, Frost and Sullivan. “As technology advances, and on-demand becomes a reality, organizations are now able to diversify their contact center operations in a more economic, agile fashion. Transera and VoltDelta make for an ideal marriage; their complimentary solutions are paving the way for enterprises to take advantage of on-demand technology that allow for distributed agents across sites and geographies.”

Consumers are often frustrated with long hold times and the inability to be connected with the right agent. Concurrently, with traditional call center models, organizations feel hindered by technological barriers, dramatic costs, inefficient agent performance, high turn over, and inconsistent customer service.

Transera and VoltDelta’s Hosted Solutions are working together to address these challenges by combining Transera’s award-winning software-as-a-service with VoltDelta’s carrier grade telephony platform and network. This sharply reduces costs, as businesses procure the service as needed and eliminate the need to manage the contact center infrastructure.

Transera’s Seratel is the first on-demand contact center software solution developed expressly for highly distributed, multi-sourced call centers. Acquired on-demand, companies of all sizes can quickly establish a virtual contact center, or seamlessly expand operations where and when they need them. Agents can be located anywhere in the world – including in-house, outsourced, remote or at home. Agents need only a PC, phone and Internet connectivity to be productive. Call center supervisors and managers have a convenient web-based dashboard for monitoring and managing dispersed agent resources.

“Our alliance with VoltDelta expands Transera’s reach into new geographies, with a special focus on Europe,” said Prem Uppaluru, co-founder, chairman and CEO, Transera. “VoltDelta is a powerful force in the telecommunications and hosted voice market and we look forward to working with them to offer our customers an end-to-end on-demand virtual contact center service. The bundled solution brings the highest voice quality, technology and scalability required by telco carriers to contact center customers of all sizes, enabling businesses to quickly deploy contact centers around the globe.”

As part of the agreement, VoltDelta will expand its product portfolio by offering and reselling the Transera and VoltDelta Solution. Transera will make VoltDelta’s carrier-grade voice infrastructure and transport options available to its Seratel customers, making it easier and more cost effective to deliver calls to geographically dispersed locations while ensuring the highest voice quality.

VoltDelta Hosted Solutions provides contact center of all types access to leading-edge technologies including speech automation, Interactive Voice Response, Automaed Call Distributor, Voice over IP transport, outbound alerts, and mobile solutions in a hosted environment all priced on a per minute or per call basis. These solutions have been used by large carrier customers and enterprises to extend the capabilities of their existing call centers.

“Transera is the perfect business partner for VoltDelta. With its open standards and Web protocols, Seratel seamlessly connects to our existing global telephony infrastructure, enabling us to rapidly deploy on-demand contact center services,” said Brad Schorer, senior vice president, Marketing and Business Development, VoltDelta. The robust functionality that Seratel delivers is fast, easy, and affordable to deploy for any contact center, and provides us with the required functionality to penetrate the untapped market for on-demand call center services. Customers of VoltDelta and Transera solution will receive access to all of the innovation of the joint virtual call center solution but also will receive the excellent customer care and professional services support from both organizations to support their ongoing business.”
